Engineering Capabilities
With over 25 years experience in producing custom wire harnesses for the aviation industry, we have seen it all. In the quest for continuous improvement, APA has grown a competent and dedicated engineering team to elevate our services and differentiate from the competition. The following are some examples of why this engineering-heavy structure works for our customers.
Production
You may be asking how engineers help with the production process when they are not the ones on the production floor? Well our engineers have a high-movement job and are regularly on the production floor. They are talking and viewing our assemblers and finding ways to make the production process faster. This is culminated by them taking on the task to continually find new automation. We recognize that while the human touch is often best, automation can create recognizable amount of cost decreasing. Our engineers develop automation initiatives throughout our facility, implementing it where it can lower costs to both us and our customers. Some of the automation processes we have include: crimping, laser wire marking, labeling, cutting, splicing, and metal and cloth over-braiding. All of these initiatives have lowered the cost of production and would not have been possible without our amazing team. For a more in depth list of our tooling click--- HERE.
Documentation
Having an expert team of engineers allows our customers to lower costs by reducing time spent on the documentation process. Our team completes an inspection during the process, as well as, a final inspection allowing for immediate use of our products. We perform a documented electrical test on each wire harnesses that moves through our facility. APA is always willing to work with customers for any requirements that they may have.
Testing
APA wants every customer to come to rely on us for the highest quality wire and cable harnesses. APA’s engineers offer a variety of electrical tests to support this core value and assure our customers of our connections. Below a list of a few of the tests run by our engineers will be given.
